HS2 Washwood Heath Depot
To help progress and develop conceptual stage works for a new HS2 Primary Rolling Stock Maintenance Building, national Network Integrated Control Centre (NICC), Drivers & Cleaners Building, as well as depot masterplanning, spatial coordination and landscaping.
Contextual planning of the depot site and boundary enables urban realm integration, optimising local benefits and eliminating any adverse economic or social effects. The scheme has been developed to the highest standards of safety, security, reliability and sustainability in order to meet a CEEQUAL rating / BREEAM outstanding target.
The depot site predominately comprises a train Maintenance Building, the NICC and Drivers & Cleaners Building and will be operational all year round. Other facilities include automated vehicle inspection & carriage wash, postal consolidation and delivery management, security, amenity and welfare, transformer and power supply and an on-site test track facility.
