Oliver joined Scott Brownrigg in 2005 and is a key member of the Cardiff studio as well as Education team. He has worked on a significant number of secondary and further education projects. These projects have provided experience ranging from creating and developing initial concepts all the way through to site liaison with contractors’ teams. His educational design and delivery experience has led him to being a technical advisor to Welsh Government.
Oliver has worked across a number of other sectors including Cultural, Mixed-use and Residential and significant experience and expertise in working with buildings of historical significance, including listed buildings and those in conservation areas.
He balances an understanding of the need to preserve the original integrity of a building with the cost and programme considerations that often prevail, particularly in education environments. His considerate approach has resulted in successful refurbishments that have rejuvenated existing buildings that are appropriate in both their aesthetic and pragmatism.
Recent schemes include Swindon UTC and London Design & Engineering UTC, as well as the Mount Ngongotaha masterplan in New Zealand and The Barony, Ayrshire.
