Hertswood Studios
We were appointed by Bidwells to develop a concept masterplan for a film studio, combining 29,000 sq m of workshops supporting 42,500 sq m of studio space and 10,000 sq m of office with post production space. Accompanied by a new creative media college, boutique hotel with gym and ancillary support facilities.
Located alongside Sky Studios new campus, the scheme delivered two primary production unit locations contained by the A1 motorway and the greenbelt. The concept was to create an outer layer of workshops which would feed into an inner core of studio space and office accommodation placed at both entrances to the site.
Bringing together local education with end user studio employment through a creative media college, the holistic masterplan provides a range of uses that serve and benefit from this significant studio campus setting. Following a successful marketing campaign of the masterplan, we were selected as part of a development team to drive forward another significant film studio campus.
