Manor Park Student Accommodation
We were briefed to design a new student residential quarter to redefine the accommodation at the University of Surrey, a series of residential buildings forming courtyard spaces, each with a unique character.
Our major design driver was to create collegiate spaces within the enclosed courtyards of each individual building. To create a sense of community and identity for each residence building, reminiscent of the historical English universities within a contemporary setting in Surrey.
All of the building entrances are reached via this collegiate courtyard. We have designed each courtyard to provide privacy and separation from the street using a screening structure and gateway arrangement at the entrance.
