Navigating new residential guidance on fire safety and the need for dual aspect

We recently hosted a roundtable dinner addressing the challenges associated with fire safety and the need for dual aspect.

This comes after the Mayor’s office announced in February that with immediate effect, all new residential buildings in London higher than 30m will need two staircases to improve fire safety – including those recently submitted for planning.

Chaired by Director Nyasa Beale, we were joined by Director Laura Bryant – Greystar, Planning Associate Director Alex Jones – Stantec, Director Matt Salisbury – Salisbury Fire Limited and Director Neal Morgan-Collins – Design Delivery Unit.

Each speaker explored the topic from the lenses of developer, planner, engineer and architect – with all in agreeance that the industry must work together to drive consistency and reduce risk when delivering our homes.
