About the presenters:

Helen is a chartered architect and Director of Practice at Scott Brownrigg. Specialising in Education design for nearly 20 years, she recently led a proposal for an innovative multi-storey Academy in the UK. She is passionate about cross industry collaboration, engagement and research and is currently a member of the RIBA Board. She was a founder member and co-chair of Architects for Change, the RIBA’s Equality and Diversity Forum and Convenor of the RIBA Schools Client Forum. She has played a significant role in the establishment of Modern Apprenticeships in Architecture. Helen champions sustainability, diversity and inclusive design across the practice and projects. She is the co-author of the RIBA Publication, Urban Schools: Designing for High Density.

Sharon specialises in school design and has particular expertise in brief development, options appraisal, stakeholder engagement and post occupancy evaluation. Ove the past 17 years she has worked with education leaders, architects and contractors to create the best possible learning environments within the UK and Internationally. Previously Sharon spent 12 years in the Civil Service working on education and employment policy and was a Fellow in Organisational Development with OPM before becoming Managing Director of the not for profit company School Works. She is a Doctor in Education from King’s College London and co-author of the RIBA Publication, Urban Schools: Designing for High Density.
